Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated QAQC/HSE Engineer to ensure the highest standards of quality control, assurance, and safety management are maintained on construction and engineering projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, safety officers, and technical teams to implement and monitor compliance with quality control and safety regulations. The role requires an in-depth understanding of QAQC procedures, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines to guarantee that both project and organizational standards are met and exceeded. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QAQC):
- Establish and enforce QAQC processes across project phases including design, development, implementation, and delivery.
- Perform detailed inspections of materials, products, and processes to ensure they meet project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Coordinate with engineers and designers to identify, report, and resolve any issues related to product quality or specification discrepancies.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards and identify any areas of improvement.
- Review and analyze project documentation such as technical drawings, contracts, and specifications to ensure proper quality controls are established.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control inspections, reports, and certifications.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members to improve quality standards.
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and regulations in alignment with company and legal standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on the health and safety performance of the project and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to promote a culture of safety across the team.
- Review risk assessments, hazard analysis, and safety plans for ongoing projects.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, particularly concerning waste management, emissions, and resource usage.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
- Maintain and update records of all safety audits, inspections, training, and safety meetings.
- Lead emergency response planning and coordinate safety drills and exercises.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, regulatory authorities, and vendors, to ensure the project adheres to QAQC and HSE standards.
- Support the project team in achieving cost-effective and safe execution of the project.
- Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and standards to ensure the implementation of the most efficient and effective procedures.
- Provide regular reports on QAQC and HSE activities to senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of tender and contract documentation with a focus on quality and safety.
- Educational Background :
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Environmental, or related field).
- Professional certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, NEBOSH, OSHA, etc.) are a plus.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in QAQC and HSE engineering roles, preferably within construction, oil & gas, or similar industries.
- Experience in conducting audits, inspections, and managing safety performance on projects.
- Skills :
- Strong knowledge of quality control/assurance principles, HSE regulations, and industry standards.
- Proficient in using QAQC tools, software, and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
