Data Center Technical Support Engineer (HVAC)

We are looking for a Global Technical Support Engineer to support the Data Centre Solutions Team working with the clients and their representatives, the sales team, the factories and the projects and field based teams to support the successful specification, selection, manufacturing, factory testing/witnessing, site installation, site commissioning & site witnessing of our Data Centre Products to deliver projects following the recognised Level 1 to 5 process. THE ROLE:
- Providing reviews, documentation and support on mechanical, electrical, hydronic, refrigeration, controls & integration items to ensure the correct selection is provided and to ensure the project is delivered correctly, on time and on budget.
- To provide support for the callout/fault finding, maintenance and after sales of the products once successfully delivered, installed, commissioned and witnessed.
- Working with schedules, technical specifications and submittals, single line schematics, wiring diagrams, CDE documents, software specification/strategy, BMS/BAS Points lists/Schedules, RAMS, RCA’s, etc.
- Support the factories with the creation of the project specific wiring diagrams and check these meet the client’s requirements before issuing.
- Provide support with the creation of the Project Specific Documentation.
- Support the various teams from sales through to Project Managers through to field service engineers and the end clients.
- Check and support the factories to ensure their processes such as testing and quality control meet the client’s requirements and highlight any deviations or exceptions including what is required to meet the client’s requirements where possible.
- Any other duties that are necessary for the achievement of the company’s objectives within the remit of the role.
- Essential: Current CSCS Operatives Card (Other Cards such as Safepass may be considered).
- Desirable: BS 7671 18th Edition or equivalent, IPAF/PASMA, F-Gas and IOSH or CITB
- Understanding of the Data Centre Industry and processes.
- Understanding of HVAC Equipment.
- Understanding of working on building sites including Health & Safety requirements.
- Previous work experience that demonstrates a methodical and well organised approach to tasks.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to use software such as Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Projects, Outlook, Web Browser, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct technical issues, in an effective and timely manner.
- Ability to determine the root cause of technical issues using proven problem-solving techniques
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Must have customer facing experience with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and present information effectively.
- Be able to read and understand single line schematics and electrical wiring diagrams as well as Controls Logic.
- The ability to work accurately and prioritise tasks, even under pressure.
- The Role may require the lifting of items in line with Manual Handling.
- The Role can require sitting or standing for long periods.
- The Role involves worldwide travel and overnight stays for varying durations.
- The Role requires a full driving licence.
