About the role
What you need to know:
- To provide promptly and commercially sensitive, pragmatic and practical high-quality legal support and advice in a cost-effective manner to the business stakeholders on the assigned Gulf and North Africa Cluster (“Cluster”) operations/areas of expertise (“Assigned Scope”). The Assigned Scope within the Cluster may change depending on the business needs.
- To provide support and guidance to Cluster operations and the wider legal function with regards to legal risks arising in the Assigned Scope.
- To proactively advise Cluster operations and the wider legal function on the impact of regulatory and legislative developments and ensuring that any such developments are adequately reflected in transaction documentation and businesses processes for Cluster operations generally.
- To ensure that appropriate stakeholders are fully briefed on major issues arising in the Assigned Scope and major legislative and regulatory changes through established reporting process.
- To be the key point of contact for regulatory interaction within the Assigned Scope.
- Coordinate outside legal resources on key projects under supervision and in line with the Companies legal procurement policies and budgets.
- Provide functional advice or training to less-experienced attorneys.
- To maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with all team members within the Cluster legal team, Cluster operations and the wider legal team.
- Stay up to date and comply with AIG GLCR policies and procedures and enterprise wide policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Education: Degree in Law Experience:- Experienced and confident practitioner able to understand and deal with a wide range of issues, from complex to administrative.
- Up-to-date knowledge of developments in own industry sector and familiarity and industry body terms and documents.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work in a team but able to manage own workload independently.
- Motivated self-starter with experience of managing a demanding workload and balancing competing stakeholders required.
