Job Description

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Prepares Civil & Structural Engineering Drawings.
  2. Prepares Civil General Arrangement Drawings.
  3. Prepares RC Drawings for various Foundations of Steel Structure, Low-rise Buildings, Underground Pits, Pipe supports, Pipe sleepers, Equipment foundations, etc.
  4. Prepares Architectural Drawings for Offices, Substations, Control Rooms, etc.
  5. Prepares Grading Drawings, U.G Drawings, incorporating all Discipline requirements.
  6. Prepares Cutlist, Shop and Fabrication Drawings for structures such as Pipe racks, Manifolds, Platforms, Pipe supports, Workshops, etc.
  7. Produces Material Take Off for Civil and Structural Items including Earthwork computation using Topographical Survey Drawings.
  8. Produces 3 Dimensional (3D) Modeling using PDS, PDMA, SP3D software.
  9. Undertakes Engineering Site Survey.
  10. Prepares As-Built Drawings.
  11. Supervises and participates in discipline-specific drawing activities.
  12. Works as Checker for all types of drawings produced by Civil Draftsmen.
  13. Provides input for the resolution of Engineering Queries and Site Queries.
  14. Undertakes Interdisciplinary Coordination to ensure integration of project design activities.
  15. Works in close conjunction with discipline engineer to ensure speedy resolution of any problems that might arise and that the project schedule is adhered to.
  16. Coordinates discipline-specific design activities across the project ensuring that work assignments are completed on time and to standards set by the Company.
  17. Maintains proper records and documentation.
  18. Provides progress reports on deliverables under his responsibilities and provides explanation to any relevant queries.
  19. Provides on-job training to junior Designers with productive works.

Skills Required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Technical Diploma in Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. 12 years of Design experience in Oil and Gas Industrial Projects.
  3. Supervisory experience and team-leader qualities (major projects).
  4. Good interdisciplinary knowledge.
  5. Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  6. Experienced and competent in Computer Aided / 3D-modelling design capability, such as TEKLA STEEL, PDS, PDMS, SP3D & CIVIL 3D.
  7. Experienced and competent in AutoCAD and MicroStation design capability.
  8. Experience in checking of General Arrangement, Underground, Grading, RC details, Structural, Fabrication, Cutlist Drawings.
  9. Knowledge of oil and gas industry projects setup as a whole.
  10. Strong knowledge of state-of-the-art software.
  11. Experience in computing Material Take Off for Civil, Structural and Earthworks.
  12. Good supervisory skills.
  13. Capable of working in a state-of-the-art engineering office for an EPC contractor where quality deliverables have to be issued in a short time.
