Job Title: Head of Advisory and Business Intelligence (HoA) Reports To: Chief Decision Support Officer Job Type: Full-time On-site Introduction: Del-Ponte is a Career Advisory and Consulting Referral Boutique Firm operating across the GCC and the Middle East. Our Client is a reputable bank in Saudi Arabia looking to recruit a Head of Advisory and Business Intelligence (HoA). Job Summary: The Head of Advisory and Business Intelligence (HoA) will support the Chief Decision Support Office (CDSO) in overseeing the execution of the bank's strategic initiatives, managing the Decision Support Office (DSO) special projects, delivering strategic business intelligence reports that align with CEO / DCEO priorities, and fostering communication across various departments. The HoA will play a critical role in driving key projects, aligning organizational efforts with strategic goals, and enhancing overall performance. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership:
  1. Align corporate goals with market trends to ensure the organization's competitive edge;
  2. Oversee the execution of strategic projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals;
  3. Review and analyze the strategic framework for new initiatives and propose recommendations to CDSO;
  4. Recommend to stakeholders on financial and non-financial projections for business cases submitted to CDSO for CEO approval;
  5. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance strategic decision-making processes.
Project Management for Special Projects:
  1. Lead and manage key special projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and successful completion;
  2. Develop special project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress against milestones;
  3. Manage special project timelines, risks, and ensure projects meet their KPIs;
  4. Implement robust project management methodologies to ensure project success;
  5. Prepare and present special project reports to senior management.
Advisory and Research:
  1. Demonstrate a strong understanding of banking finance, with a focus on affluent and private banking sectors;
  2. Ensure the quality, accuracy, relevance, and consistency of all reports, business cases, dashboards, and research outputs that reach to CDSO and the CEO / DCEO;
  3. Implement standards for content preparation and validation reaching the CDSO from business and reporting functions;
  4. Review and validate the comprehensive calendar of internal and external strategic events for the CEO / DCEO and its related materials and speeches to be presented by the CEO / DCEO;
  5. Manage the continuous improvement of the CEO/DCEO dashboard, integrating key metrics such as financial performance, strategic KPIs, and market insights, while addressing the tracking progress to ensure accountability and timely follow-ups with stakeholders;
  6. Assisting the CDSO by offering strategic advice that aids the CEO / DCEO in making informed decisions that align with the Bank's strategic objectives;
  7. Develop or leverage existing relationships with subject matter experts (SMEs), consulting firms, and industry leaders to obtain detailed insights, expert opinions, and analytical reports that are crucial for informed decision-making by CEO/DCEO.
Operational Management:
  1. Take a lead role to oversee/ coordinate the operational aspects of the department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness;
  2. Verify that all documents are up to date and follow the correct chain of command for approval before reaching the CEO / DCEO;
  3. Identify and resolve operational issues, implementing process improvements where necessary.
Communication and Coordination:
  1. Drive overall governance for CDSO by planning meetings, reviewing/ creating meeting packs, taking accurate and clear minutes, and ensuring the actions are circulated in a timely manner and appropriate follow-up takes place;
  2. Facilitate communication between the CDSO and other departments, ensuring information flow and alignment;
  3. Draft and review correspondence, reports, and presentations on behalf of the CDSO;
  4. Represent the CDSO in meetings and act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
Performance Monitoring:
  1. Manage strategic performance dashboards; liaising with other departments and ensuring that supporting materials are reviewed and aligned with overall Bank's strategic direction;
  2. Analyze data and prepare reports to provide insights into the bank's performance;
  3. Recommend corrective actions based on performance analysis.
Leadership and Team Management:
  1. Exhibit leadership qualities that align with the company's culture, including innovative thinking, and strategic foresight;
  2. Manage, lead, and mentor junior staff within the DSO;
  3. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team;
  4. Ensure team members training and development to enhance their technical and analytical skills, supporting their efforts to achieve necessary certifications.
  5. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with relevant departments;
  6. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
Special Projects:
  1. Undertake special projects and assignments as directed by the CDSO;
  2. Ensure proper project management and stakeholder alignment and communications in the assigned special projects by CDSO;
  3. Other ad-hoc requests arising from business needs, including conducting research as needed and creating recommendations for further actions.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business or finance-related discipline (Master's degree preferred);
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in roles involving strategic planning and operational management;
  3. Strong understanding of financial tools and modeling;
  4. Strong understanding of banking operations, financial analysis, and strategic planning;
  5. Excellent project management skills with a proven track record of leading successful projects;
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization;
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  8. Ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software;
  10. Consulting experience is a plus;
  11. Impeccable English language skills. Arabic language is a plus.
