The role holder will be responsible for assisting the reporting manager in assessing and underwriting new business/renewals in accordance with the established organizational procedures and standards up to the assignment. Core Responsibilities:
- Assesses, evaluates, and underwrites applications within authorized underwriting limits; assessing and evaluating evidence, commensurate with the risk presented.
- Provides an accurate, high quality, and speedy underwriting service that builds customer relations and credibility.
- Provides preliminary underwriting opinion to Reporting Manager for further assessment.
- Assists in compiling and generating daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports.
- Assists in liaising/ coordinating with Business/Service Units to ensure timely delivery and completion of documents.
- Addresses queries related to proposals.
- Performs other relevant functions in Non-Motor Underwriting Section as assigned by the Manager.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or professional certification is a plus.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in non-motor underwriting within the insurance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of underwriting principles, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
