Sommelier

Sommelier - Dubai We are looking for an experienced Sommelier to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting, stocking and serving wines to our guests, as well as providing guidance on wine selection and food pairing.

Job Description:

1. Provide guests with knowledgeable advice on wine selection and food pairing
2. Manage the stock of wines at the restaurant
3. Ensure that all wines served are in optimal condition
4. Maintain accurate records of sales and stock levels
5. Educate staff members on wine varieties, styles and characteristics
6. Assist in menu development and ensure that wines are paired correctly with dishes
7. Suggest special promotions to increase sales
8. Represent the restaurant in promotional events and tastings

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Sommelier or Wine Steward is preferable but not necessary
2. Excellent knowledge of wines from around the world, including grape varieties, vintages, regions, producers, etc.
3. A passion for wines and a commitment to providing excellent customer service
4. Ability to stay organized when working with multiple customers simultaneously
5. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends
6. An understanding of health & safety regulations concerning alcoholic beverages
