Power Networks sector continually growing we are looking to appoint Assistant Resident Engineer - Electrical for our Abu Dhabi Office / Projects. Responsibilities:
- Supervise works to ensure proper sequence and quality as per the Contract document.
- Perform and approve site activities, conduct day-to-day site inspections, attend pre-commissioning and commissioning tests, alignments, etc., and issue site memos as necessary.
- Assist the Resident Engineer (RE) with interdisciplinary coordination at the site.
- Monitor and report on the progress of work.
- Supervise and guide inspectors to ensure works are performed in proper sequence and required quality as per the Contract document.
- Ensure documentation of completed work activities listed in the Quality Control Plan/Inspection Test Plan, including attaching supporting documents and verifying data accuracy in quality control records.
- Supervise and follow up on-site tests.
- Collaborate with the Quantity Surveyor to review contractor monthly invoices.
- Coordinate with the QA/QC Engineer to ensure works meet the agreed quality control standards and are appropriately documented.
- Ensure practicable measures are taken through the Contractor’s HSE team to protect and promote Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE).
- Have complete knowledge of the assigned work packages and responsibilities.
- Monitor the construction schedule to ensure timely completion of the work.
- Verify the implementation of risk responses and identify new risks at the site.
- High voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage switchgears.
- Power transformers.
- Protection & Controls.
- Auxiliary power systems (110V & 48V DC systems and LVAC).
- Instrumentation and control (DCS, SCADA, and Telecom).
- Installation of cables and cable ways.
- Testing and commissioning of Transformers, Switchgears, Protection & Control systems, and Telecom systems.
- Issuing site memos.
- Familiarity with Transco Specifications.
- Awareness of HSE Monitoring and implementation, including hazard identification.
- Ability to monitor and supervise contractor and subcontractor activities from multiple aspects.
- Early identification of risks.
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) or Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (BE) or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Candidates with a three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognized institute, along with relevant experience in similar projects, will also be considered.
- The degree must be certified by the Ministry of Higher Education before employment.
- Degree Holders: Minimum of six (6) years of experience in the relevant field.
- Diploma Holders: Minimum of nine (9) years of experience, preferably with a consultant.
- Past experience must include successfully completing similar projects in scope and type.
- Having clear and concise procedures and guidelines for both line managers and employees to ensure policies are fully understood and implemented;
