Scriptwriter for Immersive Travel Experiences About Tripshepherd Tripshepherd is shaking up the travel scene by turning ordinary tours into interactive, story-rich adventures . Our mission? To create fully realized narratives —complete with characters, comedic/dramatic arcs, and multi-sensory elements—that let travelers experience destinations in a whole new way. Whether it’s a bustling Times Square comedic romp, a midnight fishing excursion laced with intrigue, or a hidden thrift-shop crawl with suspenseful twists, we want every “tour” to feel like a mini live production . The Role: Scriptwriter (Full-Time, In-Person) We’re seeking a scriptwriter to craft deep, elaborate scripts for 90 immersive experiences we plan to launch by May 1st. You’ll create everything from comedic walking tours to suspenseful haunted histories, weaving in local culture, multi-sensory prompts (taste, smell, sound), and potential for reflection. Think 10–15+ page scripts that detail each scene, character motivation, comedic/dramatic beats, and host guidelines—all while keeping it fun, fresh, and accessible for budget-minded Gen Z travelers. Key Responsibilities 1. Develop Comprehensive Scripts - Write in-depth scene-by-scene narratives (10–15 pages or more) featuring comedic lines, dramatic tension, or even light suspense. - Create memorable characters or host personas (e.G., a “typical New Yorker” in Times Square) that local hosts can “perform,” ensuring each experience has a cohesive story arc. 2. Wide Range of Themes - Tackle multiple experience types : from a comedic fishing outing, to night tours with spooky twists, to baking classes with comedic asides, to a heartfelt scenic hike. - Adapt your comedic/suspenseful voice to each concept, ensuring travelers remain engaged regardless of the activity. 3. Multi-Sensory & Reflective Moments - Incorporate taste, smell, sight, touch, and sound cues into scripts (“pause here so travelers can taste local pastries,” or “cue background street performers”). - Offer optional reflection points for deeper cultural or personal insight, depending on the tone (comedy vs. introspection). 4. Collaborate & Iterate Quickly - Work in person at our Niagara Falls HQ , meeting with a small internal committee (ops, marketing, community managers) for approvals. - Host feedback is minimal but may shape small cultural nuances (they might share local slang or comedic references). - Expect rapid test runs and quick revisions—some experiences may need reworks after traveler feedback or route changes. 5. Maintain Cultural & Ethical Sensitivity - Ensure comedic lines don’t offend local customs; tailor references for different environments. - Balance humor or drama with respect for the area’s history, culture, and community. 6. Help Us Hit the 90-Experience Milestone - Aim to produce final scripts for 90 experiences by May 1st (with potential additional writers if needed). - Keep quality high—your comedic arcs, dramatic reveals, and multi-sensory touches are what make Tripshepherd experiences unforgettable. Who You Are - Seasoned Scriptwriter / Playwright / Screenwriter : You thrive on dialogue-heavy narratives, comedic timing, or tension-building sequences. - Adaptable & Prolific : Comfortable juggling different genres (comedy, drama, suspense) and turning around scripts quickly while maintaining depth and quality. - Detail-Oriented : You love adding small touches (like “Host picks up a seashell and jokes about local superstitions”) that bring authenticity. - Team Player & Risk-Taker : You enjoy bouncing wild ideas around a room, iterating based on feedback, and pushing comedic or dramatic boundaries. - Local Culture Enthusiast : You find traveling enthralling, see every city as a potential stage, and appreciate that even a humble fruit-picking trip can have comedic or reflective gems. Why Join Tripshepherd?- Diverse Script Canvas : You’ll write for quirky haunted tours one day, comedic cooking lessons the next. No two experiences are the same. - Immediate Impact : Your scripts will come alive in real environments, giving you real-time insights into how jokes land or emotional beats resonate. - Fun, Risk-Taking Culture : We keep it witty, adventurous, and open to bold ideas—especially if they make tours more engaging for Gen Z travelers. - Growth Potential : As we expand, you might lead or mentor additional scriptwriters. We’re building something big, and you’ll shape its creative soul. Application Process 1. Portfolio/Writing Samples : Send comedic sketches, plays, screenplay excerpts, or any dialogue-driven pieces showcasing your style. 2. Short Scene Prompt : Draft a quick comedic intro (around 150 words) for a Times Square “hyperlocal” tour—think comedic, high energy, multi-sensory hint. 3. Logistics : This is a full-time, salary role based in Niagara Falls, Canada. In-office collaboration is key to rapid script iteration.
