The Purchase Manager, reporting to the Vice President of Operations, is responsible for managing procurement activities in both the automotive aftermarket and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts sectors. This role ensures the efficient sourcing of parts and services, balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements to support the company’s operational and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for the automotive aftermarket and OEM parts sectors.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Operations to align procurement practices with organizational goals.
  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers specializing in automotive aftermarket and OEM parts.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing to achieve optimal terms for both sectors.
  • Monitor market trends in the automotive industry to anticipate changes in supply and pricing.
  • Ensure timely procurement of parts to avoid disruptions in production or supply chain processes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of industry regulations and standards related to automotive parts.
  • Oversee inventory management to balance supply and demand efficiently.
  • Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, cost savings, and supplier reliability.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize the supply chain and implement best practices in procurement.
  • Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
Requirements :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchasing within the automotive aftermarket and OEM parts sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and procurement best practices.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Understanding of automotive industry trends and regulatory requirements.
  • Fluency in English and French; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to establish, track, and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including:
Cost Savings : Achieving reductions in procurement costs. Supplier Performance : Ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards. Inventory Turnover : Efficient stock replenishment rates. Procurement Cycle Time : Reducing the time taken for procurement from request to delivery. Contract Compliance : Ensuring that purchases align with negotiated contract terms.
