Are you an experienced Optical Design Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of ophthalmology? We are seeking a Senior Optical Design Engineer to join our client's innovative team in West Sussex . In this role, you will play a key part in the development of cutting-edge optical systems that enhance vision care and improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities:
- Optical Design & Development : Design, prototype, and test IOL's, including specification development.
- Technical Leadership : Lead cross-departmental project teams in developing new ophthalmic products from concept to manufacturing.
- Product & Process Improvement : Assess and enhance products, processes, and systems to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency.
- Innovation & Research : Generate and develop innovative research ideas, including next-generation products.
- Advanced Optics Application : Solve complex technical challenges in product development, improvement, and manufacturing.
- Design Verification & Validation : Develop new protocols and techniques for design verification and validation.
- Masters or PhD in physics or relevant technical discipline
- Zemax optical design software experience
- At least 1 years of experience within Ophthalmology
- MATLAB software experience
- Expert knowledge of optical design principles and test methods
