Have a meaningful impact as a Cyber Security Engineer. Join the largest general insurance group in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of the Cyber Security Engineering function, focusing on the conception, operation, and ongoing enhancement of Cyber Threat Emulation & Defence (CTED) services for the IAG group. The role involves improving both offensive and defensive toolchains through automation and orchestration, as well as designing, building, and managing core technologies like SIEM, DLP, EDR, VM, and CC. You’ll develop and maintain attack emulation, detection, and response methodologies, create automations and API integrations using ServiceNow, and lead CTED BAU uplift activities within scope, time, and quality. Additionally, the role includes streamlining reporting processes, applying agile methodologies to workload management, identifying innovative improvements to CTED services, and implementing security use cases in SIEM and Service Management platforms. This is a permanent full-time role open to candidates located in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). - Experience in large and complex organisations, ideally with experience working in a threat management, SOC or Threat Intel capability.
- Experience working as a Security Engineer or within a Security Operation Centre team.
- Experience with SIEM products and log file analysis, ServiceNow, EDR and data loss protection.
- Experience developing Cyber Security Use Cases and Incident Response Playbooks (desirable).
- Experience with operating and maintaining Servers and services on Windows and Linux (desirable).
- Exposure to (or an active interest in) conducting Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration testing of Web Applications, API, Mobile and Network Infrastructure hosted on-premises and within cloud environments (e.g. AWS/Azure etc.) (desirable).
- Good understanding of networking skills and comfortable reading / working at the network layer.
- Some experience in designing and building automations and integrations with APIs.
