Job: Logistics Manager / Shipping Transportation Machine Equipment Big Sized Loads Location: Ajax – Whitby- Oshawa, ON area Base Salary: 80K-90K base Industry: Machine Heavy Bulky Manufacturing / Parts -Oversized loads 5 days a week on Site Our client is a well-established organization in the machine manufacturing – fabrication – parts manufacturing. They have a job open for a Logistics Manager / Transportation Manager in Ajax – Whitby – Oshawa, ON area. You will manage trucks, drivers, yard and 3rd party carriers. This role requires 5 days on site. Logistics Manager / ShippingTransportation Manager is a hands-on role and will be responsible for freight, through company vehicles / trailers and 3rd party carriers and work with company drivers to ensure on time delivery, safety and quality. You will ensure correct shipping documents, maintain the company fleet vehicles – fuels costs, maintenance and utilization. You will consolidate loads, optimize the trucks and the routing and develop packaging instructions for least damage to these bulky large sized machines. You will select and manage carriers freight solutions manage freight costs for ensuring on time delivery of heavy-duty equipment, parts, bulky machines and ensure on-time delivery, manage freight costs, drivers and dispatch. Logistics Manager / ShippingTransportation Manager will ideally be based in East Toronto -Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa area and be able to work 5 days on site, have 5+ years supervisory / management experience in fleet – vehicles trailer routing maintenance and documentation ideally for big over-sized loads / equipment / machinery/ construction equipment and similar. This is role-up-the-sleeve work culture. Working with large sized loads- flat beds – company owned vehicles -3rd party carriers, all are important. Strong leadership and excellent English communication skills are a MUST.
