As a Mechanical Engineer at Complete Foods Production Company, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems and components to meet the needs of our projects and clients. Your role will involve applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials science to create efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that mechanical designs are integrated seamlessly with other engineering disciplines and meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Skills

  1. Food Processing Equipment: Knowledge of various types of food processing equipment, including mixers, conveyors, ovens, and packaging machines. Ability to design, operate, and maintain these systems.
  2. Food Safety and Hygiene: Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards, ensuring compliance in mechanical system design and maintenance. Expertise in designing equipment that meets sanitary standards, including materials and coatings that prevent contamination and are easy to clean.
  3. Mechanical Design Principles: Proficiency in CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software for designing mechanical components and systems, including detailed drawings and simulations. Knowledge of materials used in food processing environments, including their properties and suitability for different applications.
  4. Automation and Control Systems: Understanding of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems used for automation in food processing. Ability to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and control systems for seamless operation.
  5. Maintenance and Reliability Engineering: Skills in developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of mechanical systems. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  6. Thermal and Fluid Dynamics: Knowledge of heat transfer principles relevant to food processing equipment such as ovens and chillers. Understanding of fluid dynamics for equipment like pumps, valves, and pipelines used in the production process.
  7. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Knowledge of industry standards related to mechanical engineering in the food sector, including safety standards and quality assurance protocols.
  8. Environmental and Energy Efficiency: Knowledge of energy-efficient technologies and practices to minimize the environmental impact of mechanical systems. Understanding of systems for managing waste and by-products in food production.
  9. Safety and Risk Management: Ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards associated with mechanical systems in food production. Knowledge of emergency response procedures for mechanical failures or accidents.
  10. Communication and Collaboration: Skills in working with other departments, such as production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams, to ensure mechanical systems meet operational requirements. Proficiency in documenting and communicating technical information clearly to stakeholders.
  11. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of specific regulations and standards for the food industry, including those related to mechanical engineering and equipment safety.
