FedEx Canada has an exciting opportunity for P&D (Pick-Up and Delivery) Manager. This is an onsite opportunity located at Prince George, British Columbia. Job Summary: To supervise, coordinate and control pick-up and delivery operations within the service area of the station to achieve maximum service and profit objectives. To supervise, coordinate and control warehouse and station operations and administrative duties to achieve maximum service and profit objectives. Implements and sustains best people practices ensuring a highly engaged workplace. Job responsibilities:
- Selects, trains, develops, disciplines and motivates hourly personnel. Provides station personnel with information regarding benefits, uniforms, wage and salary policies, personnel and operating policies/procedures, etc.
- Performs an overall audit function on packages in-house and on the vehicles, as well as audits on all other station processes.
- Ensures compliance regarding corporate Personnel, Policies and Procedures using CCSM Audit as a measurement tool
- Supports corporate goals and objectives, including the People First Philosophy, Employment Equity and Quality.
- Promotes Safe work activities by conducting safety audits, accident and injury prevention and reporting, and coaching with individual employees. Works with safety team to establish proactive safety measures.
- Conducts investigation to determine causes of vehicle accident and employee injuries and to improve safety procedures. Uses online injury and accidently reporting sites accordingly.
- Assists in the administration of an annual operating budget in line with corporate policies and process. Monitors overtime, salaries and wages, supplies, vehicle rentals, fuel (eco-driving).
- Provides proper security for FedEx, FedEx employees and customer properties (or packages). Ensures compliance with building security – FedEx employees only on site, visitors signed in with escort, etc. Vendors are assigned for preventative maintenance.
- Inspects facilities, vehicles, tools and equipment to ensure a good company image and safe working environment.
- A bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering, Supply chain Management.
- Minimum five years of Operation experience in transportation & logistics or a related service industry with two years in Leadership role. Proficiency in Windows Office Suites.
- Excellent communication skills required, to appropriately communicate with individuals across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record
