--> Are you ready to make adifference in the lives of people with walking disabilities? --> Do you want to get in on the ground floor of the rapidly growing medical exoskeleton field? Assistive exoskeleton technology has shown great promise for gait rehabilitation. Currently, almost 50% of children with CP will lose the ability to walk in adulthood – we aim to change this and improve the lives of a marginalized community. The medical exoskeleton market is expanding rapidly and is expected to grow by 30% annually. Bionic Power is looking for an electrical technologist to join our Vancouver team. Bionic Power develops light-weight medical exoskeleton technology. Our first commercial device, the Agilik, is a smart powered orthosis (or brace) that helps children and adults with gait difficulties through its innovative powered knee joint. Clinical trials have shown success in children with Cerebral Palsy and Spina Bifida. It has also been used successfully in hemiparesis due to stroke and Polio. It is registered as a Class 1 medical device in Canada, the US and Europe with sales in all those regions. We are now hard at work on a second-generation device and need to expand our team. We have a small dedicated team in our Vancouver facility and are looking to build out our production and prototyping capabilities. The ideal candidate will have an electrical engineering technologist diploma along with several years of experience. The responsibilities will include: · Electrical circuit board test · Electrical final assembly · Circuit board debug and rework · Designing and setting up electrical production testing · Managing PCB and assembly vendors and scheduling Requirements: · Excellent hands-on soldering skills · Problem solving and debugging skills · Basic understanding of microprocessors, communications protocols, power conversion and motor control · Excellent teamwork and communication skills · Proficient in MS Office (Word and Excel)· Applicant must already be legally entitled to live and work in Canada The position is full time and on-site only at our Vancouver office.
