The Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer to fulfill the role of Senior Legal Counsel - AMEP to provide effective and high standard legal advice and services to SJ Group AMEP Region. You will assist and share valuable legal insight for the regions whilst assisting our Chief Legal Counsel and the Director of Legal for AMEP. As the Senior Legal Counsel - AMEP, you will provide high standard legal services and expertise to SJ Group AMEP region and ensure that all operations of the organisation are compliant with relevant legislation and SJ Group Policies. You will be responsible to develop the legal intellectual capital of the business and ensure efficient provision of processes and procedures of legal services, whilst ensuring minimal risk to the business. Beyond these core functions, your knowledge and leadership is instrumental in cultivating strong relationships, contributing to the overall compliance and success of SJ Group. As an ideal candidate, you will have:

10+ years’ demonstrated experience in provision of Legal advice in Engineering Consulting or Construction Contracting sectors either in-house or at a law firm (front-end focus)
General legal experience including commercial law, construction law (including security of payment applications), International Construction contracts i.e. Fidic; NEC and typical IFI Contract; services contracts, leases and debt collection.
Bachelor’s degree in law including a current legal practicing certificate
Experience undertaking and leading extensive contract reviews and negotiations on proposed contracts and tenders with clients and sub-consultants for small, mid and large-scale construction projects
High level communication skills, including negotiating and resolving highly complex matters
The ability to build and maintain effective relationships internally (including relevant stakeholders) and externally whilst contributing to effective client relationship management.
Willing and able to be located in Riyadh or Abu Dhabi and open to travel when needed across the region
