Job Overview: An experienced Project Manager is sought to lead and execute pipeline projects for upstream and midstream oil and gas clients. This role involves managing small to medium-large projects, from gathering system design to pipeline facilities such as LACT units, meter stations, and pigging infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in an EPCM environment, delivering high-quality results on schedule and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven professional to showcase leadership, foster strong client relationships, and mentor junior engineers. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and oversee small to medium-sized pipeline projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company objectives.
- Lead the engineering and design of gathering systems, pipeline programs, and facilities (e.G., LACT units, meter stations, and pigging infrastructure).
- Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules using MS Project to ensure on-time delivery.
- Prepare and manage project budgets to achieve cost-effective execution.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including CSA Z662 and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate project components seamlessly.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders, maintaining clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers, including Engineers-in-Training (EITs).
- Prepare and present regular project status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
- Oversee the performance of hydraulic analysis of pipeline systems.
- Ensure all design work complies with local, provincial, federal, and industry standards, as well as company regulations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pipeline engineering, design, and facilities, including gathering, processing, and transportation systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
- Strong skills in time management, budgeting, and quality control.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective across all organisational levels and with external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Company/Client procedures and requirements for project cost control.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam Revu.
- Exceptional decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Prior experience at an EPCM company is essential.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills to resolve project challenges effectively.
- Familiarity with CSA Z662 and provincial pipeline and pressure piping regulations.
- Experience in environmental engineering projects such as wind power, solar power, biofuels, water treatment, or waste management is an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Process, or Civil Engineering (or a related field).
- 6+ years of experience managing pipeline projects in the oil and gas sector.
- P.Eng. designation in good standing with APEGA.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
