Job Responsibilities
- Involved in taking care of only a specific vehicle for the organization.
- Load and unload organization’s merchandise.
- Transport products, materials, and staff securely to areas where they are needed.
- Guarantee that products and staff are protected and secured.
- Ensure timely conveyance of staff and materials to and from places as instructed by supervisor or the manager.
- Ensure that vehicles are kept perfect and clean at all times.
- Carry out routine checks on vehicles and ensure they are sound.
- Recognize electrical and mechanical faults and report to the employer or technician.
- Report any instance of mishap or accident to the dispatcher or supervisor.
- Perform periodic maintenance on vehicles, such as changing batteries and motor oil at appropriate times, as well as refueling the car(s).
- Report any case of accident, injury or damage of vehicles to the supervisor or manager.
- Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance.
- Keep up a travel log to record areas traveled to, travel time, and work hours.
- Perform some other undertakings like dropping and picking staff, getting lunch, and running errands.
- Dress professionally and in accordance with the company’s dress code.
- Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and not to put other persons - fellow employees and members of the public - at risk by what you do or don't do in the course of your work.
- Cooperate with any company efforts to improve health and safety at work.
- Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you in the interest of health and safety.
- Not to interfere with or misuse anything that's provided for your health, safety or welfare.
- Report any accidents, injuries or illnesses you may suffer as a result of doing your work, or any accidents, injuries or illnesses you become aware of that involve a fellow employee or member of the public at your place of work.
