Digital Operations Engineer
About the role: Are you passionate about technology and improving business processes? We are looking for an experienced Digital Operations Engineer to join our team to ensure the ongoing development, stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems. Key Responsibilities:- Manage IT systems by designing, testing, maintaining, and repairing hardware and software systems.
- Streamline business processes to reduce operating costs, improve user experiences, and deliver better outcomes.
- Build automated, data-driven platforms to create more effective operating models and achieve process excellence.
- Ensure safety and compliance with internal regulations within the work environment.
- Contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team culture, delivering secure and effective solutions to both the Council and the wider team.
- Contribute to large-scale projects, such as the construction of new community facilities, ensuring that digital infrastructure is well-architected, built appropriately, and future-proofed for the growth and development of the Selwyn District.
- Manage internal digital projects, including software and operating system installations and upgrades.
- Maintain a Security First mindset in all Digital and Council activities.
- Server hardware management, diagnostics, and design, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Microsoft Active Directory, Federated Services, Certificates, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Microsoft Technologies, including SQL Server, Exchange, SCCM, Azure, Defender XDR and more.
- Backup and Disaster Recovery: planning, design, and testing to ensure business continuity.
- Application Deployment Management: leading and managing the deployment of critical applications across the organisation.
