HUB24 Limited is a company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: HUB) The UX Design Team is growing at HUB24, with a goal of unifying the user experience across our products, driving front-end development efficiencies, and innovating to solve problems for our clients in a way that they will love. Each designer has a dedicated focus to a specific product whilst enjoying being part of the broader team to share ideas, toolkits, and values. This role will have a focus on the HUB24 Design System and work across the product streams to provide a central point of excellence for user interface design. In the role of UI Designer, you will work collaboratively with the HUB24 stakeholders across the business, product designers, and application developers to build and evolve a design system that will enable Product and Technology teams to create solutions and the ultimate customer-centric experience for our customers. This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne. We have a hybrid approach to work; you can let us know what works for you.
Responsibilities
- Defining and designing the interactive properties that help a user navigate and interact with a product. This includes screen transitions, animations, and what actions are triggered when a user interacts with different elements.
- Contribute to our product vision. Facilitate input from engineers, product managers, designers, executives and take a journey-led approach to designing the end state.
- Quality control on the build of UI components, their variants and interactions across devices
- Testing UI components and patterns with users, work with the design team to mature a usability testing framework across products
- To support in the production of low-fidelity and/or high-fidelity prototypes to validate an assumption or concept with appropriate methodologies
- Understand web components, web standards and deeply understand what is involved in building front end experiences across technology stacks – desktop experience and mobile
- Lead the implementation of documentation standards for the design system and work with a core team of designers and developers from across the business to uphold standards in application
- Help define UX research and data definition initiatives to inform the design of products and the definition of components that make up the design system
- A positive and constructive mindset, engage in regular meetings with the team to gauge progress, regularly conducting design reviews and offering feedback to internal stakeholders
- Sharing knowledge, insights, learnings, and reflections to help build the design capability across the broader HUB24 Group
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing and scaling design systems
- A passion for design systems and staying up to date on the latest standards, technologies, and strategies
- Expert knowledge of Figma, variables and component libraries
- A good understanding of HTML and CSS implementation is a must
- Markup experience, contribute to documentation in Eleventy
- Experience being an active member of an agile delivery team
- A strong portfolio of work, with case studies showcasing your design process
- A great attitude, with the ability to support, take direction and lead when required
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A tertiary design degree or diploma is desirable
