Position Title: Accountant – ANZ Reporting to: Regional Financial Controller – APMEA Location: Ghansoli, Mahape - Navi Mumbai, India Position Summary: The Accountant - ANZ position is primarily designed to undertake monthly financial accounting activities for ANZ markets and ensuring the accounting team achieve their objectives, month end deadlines and desired outcomes. Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of annual financial statements and performance reporting according to established timelines, per the relevant legislation, standards, and regulations.
  • Providing accurate data and insightful analysis which allows the management to make informed decisions.
  • Analyze the financial results and provide commentary on variance analysis against the Budget, Prior Forecast, Prior Year & Prior Month, based on the month on month rolling forecast.
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger, Bank, Fixed Assets, etc.
  • Undertaking monthly financial and project accounting activities (15+ projects) including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of profitability to management.
  • General ledger accounting including revenue/cost accruals, managing prepayments and overhead cost allocation journals.
  • Credit Control - ensuring the invoices are issued timely, and monitoring customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments & other irregularities.
  • Making sure the supplier invoices are recorded in a timely manner and paid as per the agreed terms.
  • Managing Inter – Company payables & receivables in a timely manner.
  • Operational Cash Flow reporting to the Corporate Head Office daily.
  • Maintain fixed asset register for accounting, reporting, and ensuring Asset Management is in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and the Company Policies.
  • Revaluation of Foreign Currency Assets & Liabilities and recognizing foreign exchanges gains and losses.
  • Identifying and implementing cost-effective financial procedures in discussion with the Regional Financial Controller to increase efficiency.
  • Market Headcount & variable employee movement reporting.
  • Ensuring that the local market processes and procedures are in line with the Global guidelines.
  • Ensuring that the Capital Expenditure transactions are conducted with proper authority and have valid supporting documents.
Experience, Skill & Qualifications:
  • At least 10 years experience in a similar role with project accounting exposure, minimum 2-3 years of experience working/training in audit sector is preferred.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding on fundamental accounting concepts and IFRS.
  • Must be willing to work based on Australian calendar.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Good understanding of reconciliations.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible and able to handle change easily.
  • Organized and works well in a team environment and individually.
  • Willing to undertake ad hoc work requirements.
  • Bachelor’s in accounting and CA/CPA qualified or part qualified.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
