Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Freight Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all freight operations at Eastfound Malaysia Sdn Bhd. The successful candidate will ensure cost-effective, timely, and efficient logistics management while maintaining compliance with regulations and upholding high standards of customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Freight Operations Management
- Plan, organize, and manage all freight-related activities, including import and export shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and transportation providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee the scheduling and tracking of shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Cost and Budget Control
- Develop cost-effective freight solutions and negotiate competitive rates with service providers.
- Monitor and manage freight budgets, ensuring expenses align with company objectives.
- Analyze freight costs and recommend strategies to optimize operations.
- Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all freight operations comply with local and international trade laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
- Oversee the preparation and review of necessary documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs clearance forms.
- Supplier and Stakeholder Coordination
- Maintain strong relationships with logistics providers, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Resolve any issues or delays in the freight process by collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage and mentor a team of logistics and freight personnel, ensuring optimal performance and professional growth.
- Conduct regular training sessions to improve team knowledge on freight operations and compliance.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for freight and logistics operations.
- Prepare regular reports on freight activities, costs, and performance metrics for management review.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight management, logistics, or supply chain roles, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and freight operations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
