Job Description
Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and lead the operations of our logistics company. As COO, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective execution of our logistics, transportation, and supply chain operations. You will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to develop strategies that align with the company’s growth goals while optimizing operational performance. Key Responsibilities:- Operational Leadership : Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the company’s logistics, transportation, and supply chain activities, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Strategy Development & Execution : Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to develop long-term operational strategies that align with the company’s goals, vision, and market needs.
- Process Optimization : Implement process improvements and innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve service delivery across all logistics functions.
- Team Management : Oversee, mentor, and develop the operational management team, ensuring alignment with company culture and operational goals. Build a high-performance team focused on operational excellence.
- Performance Management : Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Supply Chain Management : Ensure effective management of the supply chain, from procurement to delivery, optimizing inventory levels and managing relationships with suppliers and partners.
- Customer Satisfaction : Ensure that the company provides exceptional customer service by meeting delivery timelines, addressing issues promptly, and maintaining high standards in quality and service.
- Budgeting and Financial Oversight : Manage operational budgets, ensuring that financial targets are met and costs are controlled. Develop and track budgets for key projects and operational activities.
- Technology Integration : Drive the adoption of new technologies and automation systems to enhance the logistics and supply chain processes, improving tracking, efficiency, and data management.
- Risk Management and Compliance : Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental policies, managing risks associated with logistics operations effectively.
- Reporting and Analysis : Provide regular updates and reports to the CEO and board members on operational performance, risks, and strategies, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:- Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Experience : Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in an executive or senior leadership role.
- Leadership Skills : Proven experience in leading and managing large teams, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Industry Knowledge : Deep understanding of logistics, supply chain management, transportation operations, and the challenges of the logistics industry.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using data to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
- Financial Acumen : Solid understanding of budgeting, financial planning, and cost management within a logistics context.
- Tech-Savvy : Familiarity with logistics management software, ERP systems, and other technology tools used in the logistics industry.
- Strong Negotiation Skills : Ability to negotiate with suppliers, clients, and other stakeholders to drive operational improvements and cost reductions.
