Location: Symbiosis Skill and Professional University Kiwale , Pune Job Title: Assistant Professor-CSIT Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in cybersecurity, information technology, networking, digital forensics, ethical hacking, cloud computing, and other related fields.
- Prepare and deliver lectures, practical sessions, and exams for courses.
- Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and projects.
- Use a variety of teaching methods (in-person, online, hybrid) to meet the needs of a diverse student body.
- Assess student progress through exams, assignments, projects, and other evaluation methods.
- Integrate current trends, technologies, and practices in cybersecurity into the curriculum.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in cybersecurity, information technology, or related fields.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scholarly outlets.
- Seek external funding for research projects, including grants and industry partnerships.
- Supervise graduate students in their research, theses, and projects.
- Present research at academic conferences and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
- Develop a research agenda and begin to establish a reputation in the academic and professional community.
- Provide academic advising to students, especially graduate students, regarding course selection and career development.
- Mentor students on research projects, internships, and job placements in the IT and cybersecurity industries.
- Create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that fosters student success.
- Participate in department and university committees, contributing to curriculum development, program review, and accreditation processes.
- Engage in professional development to stay current with trends in cybersecurity, information technology, and higher education.
- Participate in university activities and outreach to promote the department and the university role in cybersecurity education.
- Contribute to the overall development and growth of the department and its programs.
- Represent the department and university at professional conferences, workshops, and in industry partnerships.
- Engage in outreach activities such as hosting workshops, guest lectures, or cybersecurity awareness programs for the community.
- Participate in professional organizations related to cybersecurity and IT.
- A Master's degree with substantial professional experience may be considered in certain cases.
- Experience in teaching or tutoring at the undergraduate or graduate level.
- A strong foundation in cybersecurity, information technology, or related fields.
- A developing research portfolio with publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, or other academic outlets.
- Some industry experience in cybersecurity or IT is preferred but not mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and practices, including network security, encryption, ethical hacking, risk management, and digital forensics.
- Familiarity with IT systems, cloud computing, databases, and programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cybersecurity tools, platforms, and hands-on lab environments.
