Join a dynamic and fast-paced energy trading team in Singapore. Our client is a prominent player in the global energy markets, specializing in the trading of crude oil, refined products, and related commodities. Role Overview: Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Oil Trader to manage trading activities in APAC oil markets. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the oil markets, and a proven track record of generating profit while managing risks. Responsibilities: Trading & Market Analysis: Execute trades in crude oil and refined products, including hedging strategies using derivatives. Analyze market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting oil prices. Monitor trading positions to ensure compliance with risk limits and company policies. Business Development: Identify and capitalize on trading opportunities in physical and paper markets. Build and maintain relationships with counterparties, including refineries, shipping companies, and financial institutions. Risk Management: Assess and mitigate market, credit, and operational risks. Collaborate with the risk management team to ensure trades are aligned with the company’s risk appetite. Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with internal teams, including logistics, operations, finance, and compliance. Provide regular market insights and performance updates to management. Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of proven experience in oil trading (physical and/or derivatives) in Asia-Pacific markets. Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of global oil markets, pricing benchmarks, and trading instruments (e.g., swaps, futures). Analytical Skills: Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities to evaluate market data and identify trading opportunities. Communication: Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
