Senior Business Analyst - Commercial real estate (CRE) & Construction

About the Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst to join our growing team and play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our CRE & Construction loan origination and administration platform. You will be a key bridge between business stakeholders, product owners, and the technology team, ensuring that our solutions meet the evolving needs of our customers in the commercial real estate market. Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Elicit, analyze, and document detailed business requirements for CRE & Construction loan origination and post-closing administration (including draw management and disbursement processes).
- Conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys with stakeholders to understand their needs and pain points.
- Translate business needs into clear, concise, and testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with product owners to define product vision, roadmap, and release plans.
- Contribute to the design and development of new features and functionalities for our loan origination and administration platform.
- Analyze existing systems and processes to identify areas for improvement and automation.
- Develop a deep understanding of construction loan processes, including budget management, draw requests, inspections, and disbursements.
- Ensure the system accurately reflects industry best practices and regulatory requirements for construction loan administration.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including process flows, data dictionaries, and user manuals.
- Effectively communicate requirements and product updates to stakeholders across different departments.
- Collaborate closely with developers and QA testers to ensure successful implementation of solutions.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the financial services industry, with a strong focus on commercial real estate lending.
- Deep understanding of CRE & Construction loan products, including origination, underwriting, closing, and post-closing administration.
- Hands-on experience with construction loan monitoring and draw management processes.
- Proven ability to gather, analyze, and document complex business requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with loan origination systems (LOS).
- Familiarity with construction lending software and technologies.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to CRE & Construction lending.
