Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Computer Numerical Control Programmer at Qua Tools Private Limited in Bengaluru. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for technical drawing, CNC programming, machining, milling, and programming tasks on a daily basis. Job Description for a CNC Programmer:

  • Instruction Creation : Developing detailed instructions for machinists.
  • Blueprint Review : Analyzing 3D CAD design blueprints.
  • Programming Calculations : Determining where materials should be cut.
  • CAM Programming : Translating instructions into CAM programs for controls like Fanuc, Heidenheim, or Siemens.
  • Simulation and Testing : Running simulations or tests to check completed programs.
  • Geometric Layout : Preparing geometric layouts of designs.
  • Operation Sequencing : Determining the sequence of operations in a program.
  • Tool Selection : Choosing the necessary cutting tools.
  • Job Analysis : Analyzing job orders and performing calculations.
  • Program Writing and Modification : Writing new programs and modifying existing ones for efficiency.
  • Speed and Tool Analysis : Selecting speeds and cutting tools for programs.
  • Setup Improvement : Improving setup times and contouring complex shapes.
  • Tooling Simplification : Simplifying tooling time to increase productivity.
  • Program Monitoring : Ensuring programs follow blueprints and complete tasks safely.
  • Safety Compliance : Adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
Education And/or Experience Required:
  • Diploma/ ITI/ Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-8 years’ prior experience in Engineering as CAM Engineer.
  • Knowledge of CNC Programmer Milling Tools and Knowledge of systems
  • Experience in Automobile domain.
  • Offline CAM programming with co-ordination.
Expected deliverables and responsibilities for a CNC Programmer. 1. Team Collaboration and Planning: • Work according to the team plan, delivering tasks on time and within budget. • Evaluate progress and make necessary adjustments. 2. Machining Strategy: • Develop strategies and select cutting tools for complex, high-precision components. • Choose cutting tools and parameters for optimal efficiency and accuracy. 3. Tool and Device Design: • Design or select work holding devices for machining and inspection. • Conduct trials to improve the cutting tool database. 4. Program Validation: • Validate CNC programs for 3-axis machines, ensuring they are suitable for unmanned operations. • Take full ownership of components, ensuring they meet form, fit, and function requirements. 5. Quality and Efficiency: • Achieve design intents and high aesthetics in machined products. • Optimize machining and inspection processes for quality and efficiency. • Create detailed process, quality, and inspection documentation. 6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Work with design, APQP, and assembly teams to meet customer requirements. • Resolve non-conformance issues swiftly to minimize project impact. 7. Team Support and Development: • Help team members deliver their work correctly and on time. • Support team members in learning SOPs and best practices. • Follow performance and improvement processes. 8. Lean Principles: • Apply lean and 5S visual work environment principles in your work. What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of total working experience in related domain
  • In-depth domain knowledge & competency gained at an education institution or self-learnt
  • Fluent Knowledge & Competency of 3- Axis machining and cutting strategies of highly complex metallic components
  • Fluent Knowledge & Competency of full manufacturing cycle of large and complex assembly at very high-quality level
  • Fluent Knowledge & Competency of one off/low volume machining best practices & manual G & M code programming
  • Fluent Knowledge & Competency in Siemens and Fanuc 3-Axis machine controllers
  • Fluent Knowledge & Competency of GD&T, fits and tolerances, aerospace materials, special processes & treatments
  • Fluent understanding & competency of quality management systems and ISO9001/AS9100 standards
  • Fluent understanding & competency of lean & six sigma principles
  • Fluency in engineering fundamentals and emerging technologies
  • Fluent ability to identify risks, manage them and develop mitigating actions
  • Flexibility to go beyond normal work hours in time of need and support other functions
