About the Role: As a key contributor to the financial success of a business, the Tax Accountant plays an important role by ensuring the company of fulfilling its legal obligations. Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Management of direct (Corporate Income Tax, etc.) and all indirect (FBT, payroll, GST) tax matters for the organisation.
- Preparing paperwork for tax payments and returns.
- Recommending tax strategies that align with business goals.
- Preparation and lodgement of tax returns.
- Providing tax advice to Senior Managers on all taxation matters such as research and development tax breaks.
- Organising and updating the company’s database.
- Reviewing, updating, and improving tax-related systems
- Keep up to date with changes to the taxation legislation.
- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), auditors and regulatory bodies when required.
- Forecasting tax predictions, understanding the financial landscape and market trends.
- Assist with ASIC compliance obligations.
- Setting up and winding up company, Trust, partnership structure.
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Analyst, or Tax Preparer.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business or business administration.
- Excellent time management skills.
- High level of attention to details and multitasking.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking.
- Demonstrate dynamic verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer software skills, including excel and other accounting packages (preferably Handisoft, SuperMate, Class Super, Software Assistant, XPM).
- Professional Accounting qualifications or commenced, such as, CA, CPA, or Masters of Tax is preferred.
- Must be at least a Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa for at least 2 years.
