We are currently seeking an Instrument Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Successful candidates would be offered a fixed term of employment. About The Job
- Assist the Lead /Senior Instrument Engineer in ensuring good quality design outputs, as per the relevant procedures.
- Produce the agreed deliverables as per the project requirement and schedules in a cost-effective manner.
- Perform thorough study and information gathering for all the relevant systems defined in the design and ensure adequate information is being incorporated in the design deliverables.
- Monitor and ensure that any drawings designed by designers and generated by the drafters properly reflect all required design details and adhere to good engineering practices.
- Retain all records of design deliverables sketches, drafts, reviews, and revisions for audit and traceability purposes.
- Perform required in-house Instrument sizing and selection as well as manage studies performed by 3rd party subcontractors/vendors.
- Provide assistance to site and involve in site works to the Construction Team and manage System Vendor/Integrator and field instrument vendors' work execution during EPC projects.
- Prepare, update, and check specifications and calculations for detailed engineering.
- Ensure contractual technical specifications are met by the Vendors.
- Adhere to the committed man/hours and budget.
- Ensure timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities and progress to the Lead.
- Meet quality objectives of the project.
- Remain accountable and assume responsibility for all works and activities done.
- Continuously develop and grow technical know-how as well as familiarize with Design Codes and Standards.
- Carry out onshore and offshore site visits as required.
- Prepare site survey checklists and reports and other reports as required.
- Interface with other disciplines and project support functions such as procurement and planning.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation/Electronic Engineering accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia or approved equivalent.
- Registered with the Board of Engineers (BEM) or equivalent.
- Possess at least 5 years of working experience in Instrumentation and Control engineering design, with 2 years in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Knowledge in offshore platform and onshore Instrumentation and Control systems.
- Good interpersonal skills, team player, and willing to learn and grow with the organization.
- Good communication skills both oral and written.
- Possess analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and initiative.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
- Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) with the local board or approved equivalent.
- Experience in tender bid documents preparation, clarifications, and tender bid evaluation report preparation.
- 2 years or more of working experience with OEM/System Vendors/Field Instrument vendors.
- Good awareness of HSE and HFE.
