- Installation and Configuration : Setting up and configuring Windows Server operating systems and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- System Maintenance : Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the stability and security of both physical and virtual server environments.
- User Management : Managing user accounts, permissions, and access controls across both physical and virtual systems.
- Security : Implementing and maintaining security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Backup and Recovery : Creating and managing backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Software Updates : Applying patches and updates to keep systems secure and up-to-date.
- Virtualization Management : Overseeing the deployment, configuration, and management of virtual machines and virtual networks.
- Education : A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is often preferred.
- Experience : Proven experience in Windows server and virtualization administration, including setup, deployment, and maintenance.
- Skills : Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell), knowledge of network security, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ITIL, MCSE, EMC, etc.
- Technical Proficiency : In-depth knowledge of Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, and virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Analytical Skills : Ability to analyse system performance and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Communication : Effective communication skills to interact with team members and stakeholders.
