Job Description: We are seeking a High Tech Farming Automation Equipment Engineer with experience in SCADA and PLC systems to join our team. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing high-tech farming automation equipment used in precision agriculture. You will be responsible for equipment such as seeding machines, conveyors, packing machines, and lifters, ensuring their smooth operation, minimizing downtime, and providing ongoing technical support. A key part of the role will involve leveraging your experience with SCADA and PLC systems to enhance system performance and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Operate and Manage Equipment: Manage and oversee high-tech farming automation equipment, including seeding machines, conveyors, packing machines, and lifters, ensuring they are functioning optimally. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all automation equipment to reduce downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues, including SCADA and PLC-related troubleshooting for process control systems. Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and maintain a maintenance schedule for all equipment, ensuring timely servicing and repairs to minimize disruptions in farming operations. Spare Parts Management: Monitor and manage the spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components for repairs and replacements. SCADA and PLC Experience: Assist in the operation and troubleshooting of SCADA systems for monitoring equipment performance and PLC systems for automating and controlling equipment processes. Work with IT and technical teams to resolve minor SCADA/PLC issues and support system integration. Collaboration with Teams: Work with farm operations and technical teams to calibrate and optimize equipment performance, including systems controlled by SCADA and PLC. Continuous Improvement: Suggest improvements and optimizations for farming equipment using automation technologies like SCADA and PLC systems to enhance equipment efficiency and longevity. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections in line with industry regulations and internal policies. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to farm staff, troubleshooting automation issues and offering guidance when needed. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and industry regulations when performing maintenance or troubleshooting automation systems. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience with automation equipment, ideally in agricultural or industrial settings, with a basic understanding of SCADA and PLC systems. Technical Skills: Practical experience with electro-mechanical systems, including diagnosing and repairing equipment like seeding machines, conveyors, packing machines, and lifters. SCADA and PLC Knowledge: Experience working with SCADA systems for monitoring equipment performance and basic familiarity with PLC systems for process automation, including troubleshooting simple issues.
