Job Title: Construction Site Cleaner Location: Hemel Hempstead Reports To: Site Manager Job Summary: We are seeking reliable and hardworking Construction Site Cleaners to maintain cleanliness and safety on construction sites. The ideal candidate will assist in ensuring the worksite is free of debris, waste, and hazards, contributing to a safe and organised environment for construction workers. The role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward safety and cleanliness. Key Responsibilities:
- Clean construction sites by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris, waste, and construction materials from floors, walkways, and other work areas.
- Properly dispose of waste materials, including hazardous and non-hazardous substances, in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Clean all common areas, including restrooms, break rooms, and entrances.
- Clean and remove all residue from the building phase from window frames, sanitary ware, doors etc.
- Ensure that tools, equipment, and materials are stored in designated areas to keep the site organised and safe.
- Remove and transport rubbish and recycling to designated disposal locations.
- Report any potential hazards, unsafe practices, or damage to the Site Manager.
- Follow safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards on-site.
- Previous experience in construction site cleaning is essential.
- Knowledge of basic cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects
- Ability to walk, bend, and squat frequently throughout the day.
- Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in a noisy and busy construction environment.
- Construction site with exposure to various environmental conditions (dust, noise, construction machinery, etc.).
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory (e.g., hard hat, gloves, safety boots, high-visibility vest). Must have own safety boots, all other necessay PPE will be provided.
- The site will be phased out to us to clean. The project is ongoing until March 2025.
- Must have a CSCS card to be allowed on site
- Must own your own safety boots
- Must be available to start in early/mid January 2025
- Driving license and access to own vehicle is preferred but not essential
