Senior Laboratory Officer / Laboratory Officer (Additive Manufacturing Division AMD / Additive Technology Innovation ATI Group), SIMTech SIMTech is looking for a highly motivated, quick learner with excellent interpersonal skills to join the Additive Technology Innovation (ATI) Group. The successful candidate will have opportunities to participate in research and industry projects in additive manufacturing (AM) and be involved in a highly challenging and dynamic research and development environment by working with scientists and engineers. The lab officer's responsibilities include sample preparation, characterization, measurement, and mechanical testing. The lab officer also supports the group's research activities through procurement, equipment maintenance, and risk assessments, including: Hands-on work such as preparing, operating, and unpacking AM printers. Performing material testing, sample preparation, dimensional measurements, surface quality inspection, and microstructure & defects analysis. Tracking and managing lab and group's resource utilization, procurement, and delivery. Storage space management and optimization. Ensuring high operational readiness by liaising with vendors to troubleshoot breakdowns, preventive maintenance, and repairs. Facilitating mechanical and electrical installations for new equipment. Assisting in lab equipment operation, collection of process data, and analysis of results. Secondary roles related to health, safety, environment, and procurement to manage the Risk Assessment (RA), Standard Working Procedures (SWP), Permit to Work (PTW), and chemical purchasing and storage. Identifying and recommending improvement measures to ensure high quality in lab safety and 5S standards. Job Requirements Polytechnic / Technical Diploma degree in Engineering. Strong hands-on capabilities. Meticulous attention to detail. Diligent and possess a positive work attitude. Good communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Open attitude to lifelong learning and adapts well to new technologies. In-depth knowledge / hands-on experience in design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), CAD-based modelling, fusion or sinter-based additive manufacturing processing & metallurgy will be an added advantage .
