Your New Role As a Senior Analyst - Private Equity, you will work with a Portfolio Manager or Associate Portfolio Manager across all key aspects of the Private Equity Strategy, including:

  • driving the identification, evaluation and management of strategic external PE managers (Private Equity General Partners or "GPs").
  • being a key member of the transaction team on specific co-investment and co-underwrite private equity investments.
  • monitoring and managing the specific investments to maximise investment returns.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
  • Drive key aspects of the fund selection process including:
  • Assess specific PE funds by applying a disciplined and consistent investment process, coordinate the various internal activities (e.g. legal, tax and operational risk), act as a conduit between the internal teams and the fund managers and contribute to a recommendation report.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing GPs.
  • Improve the systems and processes for fund manager sourcing and selection.
  • Evaluate Co-investment and Co-underwrite opportunities including:
  • Drive key due diligence workstreams.
  • Assess the underlying investment case, including participating in meetings with the GPs / advisors/ management and reviewing the GPs due diligence materials.
  • Lead financial and investment modelling including sensitivity analysis and assessing the key value drivers & risks.
  • Drive the monitoring process of the co-investment and co-underwrite portfolio on a day-to-day and quarterly basis, including an analysis of the operating performance and an assessment of the performance outlook.
  • Work with the broader Private Equity team to prepare strategy papers, monitoring reports and other ad-hoc reports for senior stakeholders including the Head of International Equities and Private Equity, Head of Private Equity, and the Investment Committees.
  • Drive the modelling of the Private Equity portfolio and review of the systems and processes involved in monitoring the overall portfolio performance & risk exposures.
What You'll Need
  • Relevant experience in investing, investment banking, management consulting or corporate M&A.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills (written presentations/ reports and verbal).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and willingness to deal with ambiguity and change.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaborate with a team and work across the Investments department.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
