Reference: 6692708 Due to an increased workload and a desire to improve the level of service to our clients, we have a position in our Building Control team. We are looking for someone who has the ability to complete inspections and has working knowledge of the Building Act statutory requirements including consent processing and monitoring. Although this role would predominantly focus on inspections, you would also be required to review consent applications in accordance with statutory requirements and Council's policies and respond to enquiries. Critical to success will be the ability to communicate effectively with all types of people. This will require good negotiation skills and the ability to develop good industry relationships. A sound knowledge of Building legislation, Reg 18 qualification, NZ National Diploma Level 6 (3 year diploma), and relevant experience will be essential. Competency Assessment R1-C1 is also desirable; however, there will be initial and ongoing training offered to the successful applicant.
