Description
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join Halan team. Our mission is to build the next-gen payments and financial services platform, completely reimagining how we think of payments for today’s digital age. We have grown rapidly since inception in 2018 to become Africa’s fastest-growing startup and launched new verticals in digital payments and access to finance.
Key Responsibilties: Be a key player in building a strong team with high-quality output and create a culture of innovationDrive designs of major software components, systems, and features in your team and cross teamsDesign, develop and deploy backend services with a focus on high availability, low latency, and scalabilityWork in an environment that supports your individual growthContribute to defining the best practices, including code reviews and unit testingProvide constructive, actionable feedback when reviewing code and design
Key Requirements: Strong knowledge in writing Go; also, knowledgein Scala, Java or any statically typed programming language is a plusEagerness to learn multiple programming languages and skillsGood OOP & Design patterns foundationsHave a track record of building solutions based on micro-service architecture as well as big data processingHave a good understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutionsCapable of seeing the big picture while considering the tiniest of details
