Teaching - Secondary (Education & Training) Full time We are looking for suitably qualified, inspirational and experienced Science and Maths Teacher to join our forward-thinking and dynamic teaching team that provides quality teaching and learning for our students. Primary Teacher Role Description
  • To educate children between ages 7 to 12 years according to the Malaysian KSSR curriculum.
  • To ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum and related matters for the year group: planning, assessment, recording and reporting procedures within the year group, to liaise with other staff where necessary to ensure continuity and progression throughout the curriculum, in consultation with the Head of School.
  • To promote and safeguard student welfare and personal development and whole school approach.
  • Teaching a range of subject areas.
  • Prepare for MOE and other agency school inspection.
  • Support Tenby Schools Vision, Mission and Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the efficient organisation of all pastoral procedures, activities and events related to the year group.
Supporting Actions:
  • Ensure the school’s ethos is supported and maintained.
  • Organise and/or support the organisation of assemblies, in co-ordination with other Subject Teachers.
  • Encourage parental participation in the life of the school.
  • Ensure effective collaboration and communication with parents and staff in all pastoral matters.
  • To record any issues/ concerns relating to student welfare on school platform.
  • Ensure the effective use of the Student Planner by students and parents.
  • Monitor the quality and accuracy of reports.
  • Compile and write references/testimonials for students.
  • Encourage and facilitate educational visits.
  • Supervise students throughout the day, both in classroom and outside during breaks, lunches and dismissal.
2. Liaise and communicate daily with subject co-ordinator to ensure the flow of information, continuity and progression across the year group. Supporting Actions:
  • Attend panel meeting of new students with regard to their progress in their first four-six weeks of school and ensure that this dialogue is recorded in writing.
  • Support subject co-ordinator and class teachers.
  • Ensure support for the implementation of school policies and procedures.
  • Be present at school functions when required.
  • Be present at staff meetings, CPD sessions.
  • Record incidents using the Incident Report Form when required and inform Head of School.
3. To coordinate the effective delivery of the curriculum and related matters for the year group: planning, assessment, recording and reporting procedures within the year group in consultation with the Head of School. Supporting Actions:
  • Develop teachers’ planning documentation (lesson plans) in line with schemes of work whilst ensuring cross-curricular links.
  • Monitor students’ progress across the curriculum by tracking students’ progress/performance to ensure achievement and progress at all levels of ability.
  • Check / mark students’ books / assignments and provide informative feedback to students to ensure optimal learning.
  • Support Subject Co-ordinator in developing strategies to target students who are not making the expected progress in order to enhance learning.
  • Create opportunities to praise and reward students within the school’s reward systems.
  • Provide support for the Examinations Officer in the administration of internal and external assessments. (Set, mark and conduct internal examinations.)
  • Organise and distribute homework timetables.
4. Lead the development and delivery of a challenging co-curricular programme for the year group. Supporting Actions:
  • Lead one / two CCAs.
