The firm's Dubai office plays a pivotal role in serving clients across the Middle East and North Africa region. The firm is seeking to hire at the partner level, for someone who has a practice in Corporate M&A, ideally with a background in the Energy sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead high-profile mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions and provide strategic legal counsel to clients operating within the dynamic energy industry.Key Responsibilities:Lead M&A transactions: Oversee and manage complex M&A transactions from inception to completion, including due diligence, negotiations, drafting, and execution.Energy Sector Expertise: Provide specialized legal advice and strategic guidance on energy-related transactions, including oil & gas, renewables, and power sectors.Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and offering tailored legal solutions.Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior lawyers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.Business Development: Drive business development efforts, including identifying and pursuing new client opportunities and expanding the firm's presence in the energy sector.Regulatory and Compliance: Advise clients on regulatory and compliance matters pertinent to M&A transactions in the energy sector.Market Insights: Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments to provide informed and strategic advice.Requirements:Relevant experience in corporate M&A with a focus on the energy sector, ideally within a leading law firm or a similar legal environment.Demonstrated expertise in handling complex cross-border transactions and in-depth knowledge of energy industry regulations and practices.Proven track record of leading high-profile transactions and managing client relationships at a senior level.Strong ability to understand client needs and deliver effective legal solutions.A portable book of business.For many reasons, the above role is a great opportunity for a budding Senior Associate/Legal Director/Of Counsel seeking a route into partnership or indeed also for a current partner seeking the chance to really take control of their career.
