The International University of Science & Technology in Kuwait (IUK) is a newly established private university in Kuwait, with a new Campus located in the heart of Kuwait near the Avenues Mall. Fully accredited by the Private Universities Council (PUC), the University offers a wide range of academic programs in Engineering, Business, and Arts and Social Sciences. In addition to the academic programs, the IUK has established the University Foundation Program (UFP) that offers English and Math foundation programs. IUK is seeking a highly motivated Public Relations Specialist. Job Summary: The Public Relations Specialist will be responsible for managing and enhancing the public image of our organization. This role involves developing and implementing strategic communication plans, crafting engaging content, and building relationships with media and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of media relations, and a passion for promoting and protecting the organization's reputation. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Media Relations:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals.
    • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
    • Coordinate media interviews, press conferences, and other events.
  2. Content Creation:
    • Create compelling content for various channels, including press releases, social media, newsletters, and the company website.
    • Ensure all content aligns with the organization's brand voice and messaging.
  3. Strategic Communication Planning:
    • Develop and implement public relations strategies to enhance the organization's image and achieve business objectives.
    • Monitor industry trends and news to anticipate potential PR opportunities or issues.
  4. Event Management:
    • Plan and execute PR events, including press conferences, media briefings, and promotional events.
    • Coordinate logistics, manage vendor relationships, and ensure events run smoothly.
  5. Crisis Management:
    • Assist in developing crisis communication plans and strategies.
    • Respond to and manage communication during crisis situations, working to protect the organization's reputation.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, business partners, and influencers.
    • Represent the organization at public events and meetings.
  7. Analytics and Reporting:
    • Track and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and media coverage.
    • Prepare reports and presentations on PR activities and outcomes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in public relations, media relations, or a similar role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools and PR software is a plus.
