The Traffic Management Supervisor supervises work activities of Traffic Management personnel engaged in the movement of WRM pre-positioned cargo via land, air, and sea. Responsible for training, establishing and maintaining effective shipment planning functions. Monitors cargo operations using various logistics tools to ensure In-transit Visibility (ITV) within the Defense Transportation System (DTS). Must be able to complete AMMO-43, Intermodal Dry Cargo Container/CSC Reinspection, AMMO-62, Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials Distance Learning Courses and WPM certification/recertification web-based training. Ensures all shipments comply with the International Trade and Arms Regulation (ITAR) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS). Principal Accountabilities

  • Schedules work priorities based on day-to-day Traffic Management Operations, War Reserve Material (WRM) Taskers, and other taskers.
  • Develops work standards; identifies training deficiencies; develops training plans; provides training and supervision for personnel using automated computer programs.
  • Checks for completeness and accuracy of transportation data.
  • Properly classifies freight and selects the most efficient mode of shipment.
  • Prepares all required shipping documents for data input to various systems.
  • May perform System Administrator duties.
  • Inspects Hazardous Materials to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Inspects, accepts, and inventories all incoming freight and containers.
  • Provides asset visibility and real-time tracking for customer queries.
  • Prepares shipping documents for international and domestic shipments.
  • Performs Port Handling and Inland Transportation (PHIT) duties.
  • Processes Export Traffic Release Requests (ETRR) for sealift shipments.
  • Performs customs clearances and liaises with relevant authorities.
  • Selects and contacts local carriers for appropriate transport arrangements.
  • Loads/unloads pallets, equipment, vehicles, and ISO containers.
  • Performs WRM custodian duties and container inspections.
  • Reports all lost, damaged, or modified containers.
  • Prepares and submits necessary documents for air movement.
  • Maintains Technical Orders and submits reports as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Proficiency in personal computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Effective communication skills, maintaining security protocols.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; three years of experience in Traffic Management or related field.
  • Experience in cargo loading/unloading and HAZMAT Certification.
  • Must be eligible for a US Secret Security Clearance.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of shipping/receiving procedures preferred.
