Job Title: Project Manager – Organic Cotton Project Objective: To lead an organic cotton farm project Location: Adilabad, Telangana, India  About CottonGuru CottonGuru is a brand of trust and a voice for the 6 million cotton-growing smallholder farmers in India. Our Project CottonGuru’s organic cotton project in Adilabad focuses on promoting sustainable farming practices and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. The project emphasizes organic cotton cultivation, ensuring that global brands can source raw materials with full traceability and transparency. By supporting sustainable cotton production, we help farmers transition to organic methods while aligning with environmental goals. Learn more about our initiatives at Key Responsibilities

  • ICS Supervision : Oversee the Internal Control System (ICS) of organic cotton to ensure certification compliance and all other related matters
  • Documentation: Supervise completion of important documents related to farmer data (i.e. farmer application and contract, farm book, and so on), compliance, and other important paperwork
  • Audit Management : Manage and conduct internal and external audits and handle associated documentation.
  • Farmer Outreach and Training : Lead training sessions on best organic practices and organic bio-inputs; improving farmer engagement and retention and ensuring new enrollment to scale project size 
  • Partnerships : Work with local partners like FPOs, to ensure on-time deliverables as per project timelines 
  • Team Building : Build and lead a team locally to support project activities.
  • Progress Reporting : Provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders
  • Government Schemes : Apply and work towards securing eligible government schemes/grants, build relations with local officials from the Agri Dept, CICR, KVK, CCI, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or relevant fields 
  • Proven 5+ years of past work experience in farm management of organic cotton
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills) is necessary
  • Based in Adilabad in Telangana or a nearby area, with the ability to travel to farm site frequently
  • Proficient in English, Telugu, Hindi; Gondi (local dialect) being a plus.

He should be keen to grow and mentor a local team of field officers under him who are competent in getting organic certifications.
