Section Head, Portal and Web ServicesMichael Page- Doha, QatarPosted In 27/6/2013Job DescriptionReporting to the Manager of Enterprise Business Applications, you will be responsible for the planning, maintenance, development, and operation of the University's Web presence and Portal application and directing the integration for Internet/web related services and functionality into the overall computing fabric of the QU, including but not limited to: Administrative systems, Library systems, Academic/distance learning systems, Student, faculty, staff and alumni "portal" systems, and World Wide Web presence.You will lead a group consisting of staff members who perform systems administration and analysis for the qu.edu.qa web presence and the QU portal infrastructure utilized. You will work closely with other Unit Heads and staff members within ITS as well as other groups around campus who support web applications and supply enterprise content management solutions to the University.Your primary initial responsibilities include SunGard Luminis Portal products implementation and integration in addition to Microsoft SharePoint Portal, developing web services integration "vision" and directing day-to-day operations of Internet/web services integration. You are expected to stay current with state-of-the-art web site practices, including graphic presentation, interactivity, web marketing, server performance and other relevant areas, and serve as a college resource to provide guidance and support in those areas.
