RF Engineer

With divisions of rocket propulsion, autonomous robotics, satellite integration, and stratospheric balloons, NordSpace aims to bring space closer to Earth and inspire space explorers.As we are now developing the orbital version of our vehicle, the RF Engineer at NordSpace will play a critical role in building subsystems for reliable wireless communications with launch vehicles and satellites. The goal is to develop hardware and software for advanced space communication platforms including ground stations, satellite comms modules, and potentially deep space mission communication systems. This role will also support other divisions at NordSpace where mechanical, electrical, and software systems are required in a small team environment.Qualifications:2+ years of experience in electrical/aerospace engineering related to wireless communicationsMinimum Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, Master's or Ph.D. preferredExperience in RF hardware development (radios, transceivers, amplifiers, filters, etc.)Hands-on engineering experience with electrical systems (PCB design, embedded systems programming) and sub-system integrationExperience with communication subsystem manufacturing, qualification, integration, and verificationExperience in calculating link budgets considering atmospheric & environmental effectsExperience in antenna design and analysis including sizing, patterns, gains, and usageKnowledge and passion for the space industryExcellent problem-solving and independent research skillsExcellent project management skillsThis is a full-time in-person role at our head office in Markham
