Skills/Services/Requirements: Image & Patch Engineer will be responsible for Desktop Engineering Day to day operational activities and administrative activities in Image Management, application deployment, Patch Management using Altiris/SCCM tools. He should have experience in VB Script and/or PowerShell scripting. Also good understanding of Active Directory and basic Networking concepts. Below are some of the Role & Responsibilities for the Engineer role:
- Altiris site maintenance and core infrastructure management
- Maintain Altiris Notification Server and Symantec Management.
- Knowledge on Windows operating System Deployments (Windows 7, 8.1 and 10) and OS Deployment troubleshooting
- Strong working knowledge on Windows 10 migrations and Upgrade activities
- Managing task sequences and OS images
- Working with the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) to automate desktop deployments and to standardize images.
- Should have knowledge on Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) tools and Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP)
- knowledge in App-V and MSI technologies
- Knowledge in Application compatibility testing using tools like Citrix App-DNA, ACT etc.
- Knowledge on Scripting Languages like -VBScript, Power Shell, WMI or any others
- Security updates and Patch deployment through Altiris/SCCM Server
- Manage the deployments and patch rollout
- Agent Communication Maintain Software Deployment and Patch Management solution activities.
- Troubleshoot failed Altiris/SCCM deployments and Altiris Client health issues
- Maintain Software Deployment Patch Management solution activities
- minimal Knowledge in SQL scripting to assist in capacity planning for meeting future Systems Management needs.
- Being flexible with working on off-hours, weekends, and even holidays
- Excellent verbal (English) and written communication skills. Ability to clearly present to management.
