Emirates NBD Group IT Global ODC (Offshore development center) management provides a structure for aligning IT strategy with business strategy. By following a formal framework, that can produce measurable results toward achieving the strategies and goals. It also takes stakeholders' interests into account, as well as the needs of staff and the processes that is followed. The Global ODC management office is accountable for providing on the ground ODC and vendor oversight, implementation of the ODC standards and ensure that vendors adhere to key contractual and policy requirements. Managing key strategic third-party vendor partner relationships of the Bank throughout their life cycle thereby ensuring that the Bank maintains an effective Vendor Management Program in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The ODC Head will be responsible for establishing, managing, and scaling the Offshore Development Center in Chennai. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and leadership to ensure the ODC aligns with the bank's overall objectives and delivers high-quality services. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale IT operations, Vendor strategy and governance, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the banking sector. Role and responsibilities:- The purpose of this role is to:-

  • Be accountable for providing on the ground vendor oversight, implementation of the ODC standards and ensure that vendors adhere to key contractual and policy requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure that the work outsourced and offshored at respective ODC location is delivered as per the contract commitment signed by partner and aligns with the overall objective of offshoring program.
  • Be the custodian of ODC governance processes, policies, procedures and controls to ensure strategic, regulatory, operational, contractual, and reputational risk are effectively mitigated.
  • Ensure consistent ODC Management and Governance structure is in place. Monitor comprehensive and consistent incident management process and BCM planning and execution.
  • Manage relationships with the service providers and colleagues across technology and related domains.
  • Ensure ODC standards are adhered to (security, audits, training, policies, guidelines)
  • Ensure risk oversight and control - Offshore environmental / protect model, act as escalation point for critical issues, oversee compliance within vendor organization on offshoring (specific or generic) policies / frameworks and audits, on the ground compliance oversight
  • Manage stakeholders within Emirates NBD - Create engagement within to keep the engagement successful, create and maintain appropriate level of trust through stakeholder management. Act as primary point to drive ODC related expansion and help drive vendor and ODC consolidation implementation plan as part of workforce strategy.
  • Drive staff engagement through regular forums at ODC, town halls, events, breakfast meetings.
  • Ensure vendor governance, performance management, service level tracking, KPI monitoring, Risk & controls, executive steerco planning and execution
  • Regular review of risk and compliance training and conduct surprise checks for vendor controls against contractual commitments, Service levels, KPIs
  • Support the business in their governance and oversight of the supplier landscape at respective location
  • Champion of adoption of the supplier operating model across delivery areas
  • Ensure vendor performance that aligns with the business requirements.
  • Vendor Service Levels - KPIs for all IT services outsourced and periodically monitoring the same Governance management to monitor and improve vendor performance,
  • Ensuring effective communication, change management and adherence to guidelines by ENBD, third-party related corporate policies
  • Ensure continuous improvement and right productivity & efficiency levels
  • Monitoring market, industry and regulatory trends impacting bank’s outsourcing strategy and suppliers involved
Skills & Experience:-
  • Minimum 15 years of IT disciplines in ODC Management, Vendor Management, Service Delivery Management, Program Management, Agile .
  • IT based degree, university degree, or equivalent work experience required and banking qualifications
  • ITIL/ PMP/ PRINCE2/COBIT/ AGILE
  • Strong financial management experience
  • Offshore / Outsourcing experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent strategic planning and execution capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, IT service management, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance in the banking sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to work in highly ambiguous environments and build solutions that have the ability to flex with the business needs and ultimately scale
  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking program metrics
  • Anticipates future business needs and identifies investments needed, and builds the infrastructure to ensure optimization capability is geared toward (or even ahead of) business demand
  • Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, while measuring and identifying activities performed and ensuring supply and demand requirement are met at all times
