Key Responsibilities
- Conducting research and development activities related to solid mechanics (cryogenics,strength analysis and tribology)
- Design and perform experiments for characterization and testing of materials for new material innovation.
- Utilize various characterization instruments such as UTM for evaluating strength, stiffness and Tribometer (Pin on disc) for measuring co-efficient of friction, wearability of polymer and composites
- Analyze and interpret experimental data to draw meaningful insights which can be utilized by organization
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of material science and solid mechanics
- High adherence to safety policy of SG
- To independently handle, calibrate and trouble shoot instruments such as UTM and Tribometer
- Support all SG business for needs in terms of tribological and strength properties subsequently support with data interpretation and timely reporting
- Develop knowledge base with inferences of experiments and coming up with new material innovation
- Developing new test methods
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge on Solid mechanics, Tribology, polymer and composites
- Familiarity with characterization instruments such as UTM and Tribometer
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Should have strong ability to establish structure-property-process relationship and be able to apply for Root Cause Analysis
- Strong in interpretation on characterization & tests reports
- Good people connect across cross-functional and multi-functional teams
- Basic knowledge on statistical tools
- Should possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Mandatory to have good presentation skill to convey message in concise manner
- Masters in Material Science/Mechanical with 1-2 years' experience
