Hackney Education provides a range of services to support the education of children, young people and adults in our inner London borough. Hackney is one of the UK's highest performing local authorities, serving one of London's best places to live and work. Within our diverse borough we serve a wide range of children and young people. We have a particular focus on supporting less advantaged families: Hackney figures in the 10% most deprived boroughs in England on a number of measures. Hackney Education's key priority is to improve the life chances of every child, young person and learner: making Hackney the most forward-looking education system in the UK, where schools, settings and partners provide an exciting environment which ensures inclusion and success for everyone. We see our borough as being one of the best places in the country for young people to grow, learn, develop and achieve - and one of the best places for colleagues to work and thrive in our education system. We are looking to recruit 2 innovative and skilled team players to join our long standing Early Support Team, which consists of Area Sencos and specialist teachers. The Early Support Team works as part of Hackney's Integrated SEND Services. As an Area Senco, you will work directly with children aged 0-5 years old with SEND, their families and carers, and Early Years settings including Children's Centres, and private, voluntary, and independent settings. Through collaborative work, you will support to remove barriers to inclusion and ensure the best possible educational outcomes are achieved for children with special educational needs and disabilities Our approach is child-centred and ensures children with SEND are supported via the Graduated Approach. This is achieved through early identification, supporting parents, advice/training, modelling of strategies/interventions and multi-agency working. We are particularly looking for applicants with strong experience and interest in the area of Neurodiversity in the Early Years. Interested? Please contact Cimone Brown-Lead Specialist Teacher (Early Support Team Lead) to arrange an informal conversation or if you have any queries.
