The preferred candidate will have a strong technical background in water resource engineering, experience working with municipalities and approval agencies in Southern Ontario, and a strong desire to mentor and develop staff.This is a fantastic opportunity to join and help lead a dynamic team of water resource engineers.The RoleReporting to the Senior Vice President, this position will be responsible for business development, proposal preparation, project management, and delivery of projects in the following areas:Stormwater Management facility retrofitsApproval authority permittingMunicipal Peer ReviewStormwater management and drainage design for various municipal infrastructure including:Road design and reconstructionBridges and culvertsTransitSolid waste managementPublic facilitiesAs a senior professional within the organization, you will have responsibilities that include:Lead or support project/client managers in establishing appropriate scope, budget, and timelines for deliverables; and work with teams to implement delivery;Ensure quality and timely delivery of project deliverables to meet the client's needs;Manage project financial performance and team utilization;Provide mentorship and training to a team of water resource engineers and technical staff;Participate in the development of the annual business plan;Assist in client development and prepare proposals;Other duties as assigned.Professional Knowledge & QualificationsThe successful candidate will be a Water Resources Engineer with a minimum of 12 years of experience and the following qualifications:A registered professional engineerExperience as a project manager for stormwater/water resource projectsA high level of expertise in stormwater and water resource engineering applications such as InfoWorks, InfoWater, PCSWMM, SWMHYMO, Visual OTTHYMO, and HEC-RASExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong analytical and data management skillsExperience leading and mentoring staff teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrentlyA valid Ontario driver's license and vehicleAdditional Assets:Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation InroadsFormal project management training (PMP designation or similar)Why Choose Burnside?Are you interested in working for an employer with a 5-decade track record of building a great reputation both internally with their staff and externally with their clients?
