Your future role

We are looking to hire a Port Operations Superintendent, who will be responsible for but not limited to: The Port Operations Superintendentis responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all IMI owned floating assets and mooring and cargo operations taking place within the yard including the marine movement & activities along the quayside & basing of the Maritime Yard and the Load out Barge operations in compliance with company policies, rules and regulations and upholding IMI’s values and safety standards. Along with the accountability for the maintenance of the said assets through IMI’s Asset Management department.

Primary Accountabilities

1. Presides over daily operations leading to the implementation of safety and efficiency planning, & continuous improvement of strategies. 2. Review mooring & docking plans for proper planning and implementation of all marine movements, mooring, unmooring, diving & surveys, and cargo operations. 3. Review all drawings and specifications for marine assets planned for construction including load out barge, boats, and others as needed. 4. In charge of the movement of Company Load out Barge and other floating vessels’ operations within the basin, including utility boats and pontoons. 5. Controls diving operations which involves UWILD, surveys, underwater tests & inspection and underwater debris removal within the facility. 6. Controls mooring/unmooring operations for ships & rigs including mooring during dry docking operations within the facility. 7. Controls cargo operations including loading/off-loading cargos from vessels and storing of material within the material wharf as needed. 8. Support internal & external stake holders with planning for maximizing utilization & performance of facilities & associated resources. 9. Ensure all port operations associated equipment including load out barge are maintained in accordance with company policy and comply with regulatory requirements in coordination with the Asset Management Department. 10. Build up the Port Operations division’s capabilities by developing its org. chart, manpower plan, roles and responsibilities and job descriptions. 11. Build up the Port Operations division by developing, procedures, guidelines, manuals as required. 12. Control allocated operational budget and assist with the development of budgetary/CAPEX forecasts. 13. Support the Human Resources Department with effective recruitment & selection of personnel. 14. Work closely with other Marine Operations divisions to ensure good communications and smooth operations. 15. Work closely with HSE to engineer out potential hazards, to provide a safe working environment, for all employees. 16. Work closely with the MYCC in planning movements & berthing operations. 17. Work closely with the 3rd party port operator providing the Pilotage, Towage etc. to coordinate vessel arrivals and docking operations. 18. Support the implementation of ISO 55001:2014, Asset Management System in the division. 19. Review and approve spare parts strategies for the Port Operations division’s assets 20. Responsible for performing inspections of all equipment and assets under the division and making sure all are in optimum working condition. 21. Promote and implement a strong safety culture for all Marine Operations and ensure that staff are properly adhering to company safety regulations and are fully briefed on all safety requirements. 22. Contribute to the successful delivery of IMI Business plans. 23. Responsible for identifying and managing appropriate training and development in the interest of quality of service, customer satisfaction, health and safety and the personal development of individuals within the Port Operations division. 24. Represent IMI as required at internal or external meetings

Who we are looking for

Diploma degree in technical engineering or equivalent. Understanding of ERP systems Understand or relevant ISO standard, knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL,IALA & other marine regulations & conventions. The ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, across a broad range oftechnologies and implement training programs. Resilient under stress and capable of managing competing priorities Over 15 years of experience in the marine industry, preferred to be an ex mariner Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus
